Friday 5th and Saturday 6th June 2009: discover what goes on behind the scenes in the operation of a Motorway.

Alis and Routalis, concession holder and operator of the A28 Rouen - Alençon motorway are once again participating in the National Motorway Operator open days organised on the initiative of the ASFA (French Motorway Companies Association).

On Friday 5th and Saturday 6th June, from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, the Chaumont motorway operations centre located next to the Les Haras service area (between Orbec & Gacé) will open its doors to the general public so that you may discover exactly what goes on behind the scenes in the day-to-day operation of the motorway.

As with previous years, there will be a lot to see and participate in, all free and in certain cases with prizes to be won. You will be able to meet the men and women that contribute on a daily basis to your comfort and safety when using the motorway and discover their role and the equipment they use. The event will include: a visit of the Operation Control Centre, display of equipment and vehicles (motorway intervention vehicles, toll equipment), a video presenting the various types of motorway interventions, coning and cone removal, accident simulation with vehicle cutting out operations (on 5th June at 5:30 pm and on 6th June at 4:00 pm), etc.

For this fourth edition of the Open Days event, the emphasis is being put on measures and devices for the protection of the environment: during a guided visit you will be able to see how a collection basin works and there will be an introduction to the basic rules of eco-driving.

In addition, members of the National Gendarmerie motorway patrol unit and the Firemen/Emergency Services units will present their equipment and answer your questions.

One important detail, on 6th June, there will be a bouncy castle to entertain the younger visitors!
