On the Saturdays of 10th & 31st July and 7th & 14th August last, Alis proposed to motorists using the Rouen-Alençon A28 motorway to "Take a Break" in their journey and take the time to recharge their batteries on the road to their holiday destination (or, for the less fortunate among them, on the way back).
Organised for the fourth year running, this operation - which in 2010 is part of the initiative launched by the ASFA (French Concession Motorway Companies Association) to make motorist aware of falling asleep at the wheel - was a great success. In effect, more than 3500 motorists and their passengers visited the "Take a Break" Village, set up for this occasion on the Domaine d'Harcourt service area, and took advantage of the activities available. Magic show, bouncy castles, giant toboggans, ball pool, giant wooden games, etc. all gave immense pleasure to both young and old! And if the motorists were able to fully benefit from a welcomed break, the same can't be said of the physiotherapists who were permanently occupied in relaxing muscles tensed up from driving and giving their patients for a day the energy to continue their journey. They were also on hand to give precious advice to drivers on the best position whilst at the wheel.
In addition, each child was given a handbook to initiate them on the basic rules of behaving salefy as a pedestrian, a driver or a cyclist. This initiative confirms Alis's commitment to actively participate in the promotion of road safety.
